About ColorBlind Sim

ColorBlind Sim is an independent web utility at color-blindness-simulator.hub2.day that helps designers, accessibility advocates, and curious visitors understand how colors are perceived by people with different types of color vision deficiency.

What This Tool Does

Upload an image or pick a color, and the simulator instantly applies scientifically grounded transformations to approximate protanopia, deuteranopia, tritanopia, and other forms of CVD. The goal is to give you a quick, practical sense of where contrast might fail or where information could be lost—right in your browser, with no uploads to a server.

Why It Exists

Accessible design starts with awareness. This site was built as a focused, no-signup resource for anyone who wants to check a palette, a chart, or a UI mockup against common color vision limitations. It is not a diagnostic tool and does not replace comprehensive accessibility testing, but it offers a fast, private way to build better visual habits.
