Red cones are missing or non-functional. Reds appear darker and can be confused with greens and browns. Affects approximately 1% of males.
Green cones are missing. This is the most common type of CVD, affecting about 1.5% of males. Greens and reds look similar, and colors appear muted.
Blue cones are missing. Very rare, affecting less than 0.01% of people. Blues appear greenish and yellows can look pink or disappear entirely.
This simulator uses the Brettel-Viénot-1997 method adapted for real-time canvas rendering. It provides an approximation and is intended as a design aid, not a medical diagnosis.
